First let me say I am new to this forum and this is my first posting.
I have read the regulations and I have contacted the Moderator regarding this inquiry.
This is NOT an attempt to make a sale here in this forum.
This is simply an attempt to get some information regarding the value of an out-board motor I have.
I already have a buyer, I am simply trying to find out what a fair price would be for this equipment.
I have a 1975 4506a 4hp 2stroke engine. It is in nearly new condition with approximately 20hrs total running time on it.
I inherited it from my father who actually used it a little but ultimately not nearly as much as expected. I have had it for about 20 years kept in my basement clean and run only once in the time I have had it.
I have not really had the opportunity to use it and very likely will not... so I have a co-worker who would like to but it and I would like both of us to get a fair deal out of this.
That said I am wondering what would be a fair price for this engine. I have all of the original paperwork including the owner's manual,parts cataloug, fuel efficiency guide, and service manual.
So please can anyone help me with what a real price for this should be?
How much were they new?
What would it be worth now?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
