Default 1972 Johnson 50 hp trim question

I can't tell or either don't know what I am looking at...but it appears that my motor doesn't have the feature that if you hit a stump it kicks up harmlessly...so I think it just stays in the fixed position that you put it in, does anyone know for sure?

It does have a break away built into the tilt system but it takes a good wack to break it away. Best thing to do is stay away from uncharted waters.
