1967 evinude 100hp starlight, no spark!

my dad got this boat from my great uncle about 10 years ago, still in PERFECT condition, but when you turn it over it wont start, have had some people look at it, heard it was a powerpack, nuetral switch, all kinds of stuff. im 22years old now and bought the boat from the old man. i wanna get it going on the water. ANY info regarding the engine (or boat) would be great. thanks for looking! the boat is a 1967 thunderbird with a cathedral hull.

Yes, battery CD ignition, it need a good battery in order to run.

If it's like my 67 speedifour 80hp, a automotive type ignition is what it has, there are 2 sets of points under the distributor cap and a coil mounted to rear of the block, it's easy to troubleshoot that system if thats what you have?

bk is correct. It has the Prestolite battery CD system. It is easy to blow the $ pulse pack and/or alternator by improper wiring, grounds, or procedures. Know what you are doing before proceeding. And don't just assume and start replacing parts without first doing proper troubleshooting.

I'm not sure about the 1967, but it might have an ignition safety circuit that prevents ignition spark/starting unless the alternator is working. That was to prevent spontaneous starting without running the starter.
