Default 1967 40hp evinrude no water

I have a 1967 40 hp Evinrude. I have no water coming out of the port. I have took the lower end off and replaced the impeller also new seals on the top of the impeller housing. I took the pipes out and there are no plugs in them. I also turned the shaft and it pumped water all the way up the pipes. I poured water in the two ports where the thermostat is and water came out of them with no problem. There is no water in the cylinder that I can see. I have no compression in the top cylinder, 80 to 90 in the bottom.
Dose anyone have any thing I can do or any easy fix.

I think the compression is the first point to look into. If it' a blown head gasket it won't circulate water.

All you need is the head gasket.

If you were testing it in a barrel, the water has to be up pretty far for it to pump.

The pitting will probably be in the aluminum casting, not the cylinder sleeve. If not to severe, I would'nt worry about it. Can you post a picture?
