fuel to oil ratio is 24:1. Don't let someone tell you 50:1 is ok. That is 5.3 ounces of TC-W3 2 cycle oil (any brand) to 1 gallon of regular 87octane gas. 16 ounces of TC-W3 2 cycle oil (any brand) to 3 gallons of regular 87octane gas.
Here is a link to an electronic parts diagram for your motor.

Good luck....sweet little motor you got there!!
Being cheap and not getting a manual will cost you hundreds or maybe thousands of dollars
thank you for the information that is what I thought the mix was.
Thank you for the links as well!!
Happy fishing !!
I collect cd and Gale 5.0hp f/n/r (almost the same thing). The 63 is one of the best outboards ever, keep running it at 24:1 and will last forever. I find it interesting that I can find a lot of 1954 to 1963 running outboards but as soon as OMC switched to 50:1, the mid to the 70s, they are much harder to find.

Have you opened the fuel shut off?
I have run a tank through it now. I just bought it for $100 canadian. I have it on a 14 ft aluminum today only caught one 2 lb pike but when I got to the boat this morning first pull and she runs like a dream!!
bowfin ? and maybe the guys here will correct me but i think in '63 it was still a bushing motor and it needs a 16:1 mix ....
well it ran good with 24:1 today used a whole tank!!
just looked and it is infact a roller bearing motor so your good (i think this was the first year for them)
thanks for l;ooking out for me!!!
yeah man ive got a '56 fisherman 5.5 and its a bushing motor(they run 16:1) id hate to see someone ruin a perfectly good motor b/c of some mis-information
