1962 Johnson Fuel Mix Ratio
I have a 1962 Johnson SeaHorse 10hp--QD23
What is the proper mixture for this motor. Previous owner told me 50:1...just want to make sure thats ok!

52-67 evinrude 3hp ratio is 24:1
Should be the same on a 10hp

Tried some more research, some people are saying they run 50:1 because of the modern oils? Should I just got down to 24:1??

All the crankshaft bearings are needle rollers so it would probably be safe to run on 50:1 but I'd stick to the 24:1 that Evinrude say
The 3 hp does not have needle bearings so definitely should not be run with less oil ... more might even be better for it. 20 :1 recommended for earlier ones and I don't see any obvious differences.

Signature- If you have fuel and spark- Have you checked compression?
