Old Honda 100 10 hp 4 stroke getting to much gas?

Hey all,

I'm new to the forums and just bought a 14' alum boat with a honda 100 10 hp 4 stroke motor. The engine ran great then we trolled with it for a few minutes then went to open it up and it was bogging down then went back to normal after a minute. Then after a few more minutes it bogged down and died. I noticed on my gas can that my breather valve was close so i undid that and more air went into the gas tank and I had to sit for a few minutes to get that motor running again. It wanted to start but either it was needing gas or getting too much. Finally afetr a while it ran great, went back to the shore and upon reaching the dock it died again. Anyone ever have this happen to them? Also it looks like gas was coming out the back motor cause the rainbow in the water. Any help would be appreciated. The engine number is B100S-1300410.
