Honda 50 4-stroke, not pissing...need to get up to temp?

Kind of a stupid question but wantd to be sure....... just put this motor on my boat, hooked up the muffs and got her fired up. it didn't piss out the tell tale....I'm assuming it has to get up to temp. before pissing??? didn't run it too long, I just wanted to hear it fire up for the first time.

This engine will give immediate output at the telltale but you have to tape off the water pickup under the cavitation plate,when on the muffs.Not doing so risks melting down that impeller and housing.

Thanks, I'll give that a try...... I only started it up, let it run for 30 seconds or so then shut her down.....I just put the motor on the boat so I was really only making sure she would fire up....but noticed no immediate flow from the tell tale so thought I would ask.....

taped the water pick-up and just to be sure blew through the tell tale hose....fired her up and got a great stream flowing out of the tell tale.thanks for the tape tip!

Yeah, great tip.

Now all I have to do is remember this next spring when I get the boat out!
