2002 Honda 4 stroke left flat on ground-oil leak.need advice

Guys
i didnt had stand so i left my new purchased outbord flat on ground.After few days i went back to my garage to checkout and saw some engine oil leak from some where.i made the outbaord standing and cleaned leaked oil.now i kept it standing.so my question is it normal.or do i i do do some step before i try to start.please let me know.thank you
