remote question: 71 1350

opened control box today, what a mess. bare wires everywhere,, corrosion, etc. have all the wires labeled except what appear have been pink and white both going to ignition switch with the red & black. . what are these wires for? so i can label them. switches are so corroded there is no saving them. looking at used controller and will probably have to make a junction box. thanks in advance. the existing controller is the type that is single lever, lift fast idle above the key, tach wire out the front.

The BIA color chart at broke boats says pink is fuel gauge sender.White is not listed.Could it be gray which is the tach?Try to find the color elsewhere and ring it out with a meter.

it was exactly what i was looking for. i think i will rewire everything except the neutral switch, leave in remote, and go to dash controls for everything else. , ignition, choke push button, etc.
