I cannont for the life of me find the coastgaurd plate on my boat that tells me the masimum cargo weight/HP. I just upgraded from a 70 hp to a 90 hp, and although my boat runs much faster at WOT, when i'm not moving, she's sitting pretty low in the water on the tale end. Kind of scary low. I think my boat is about a 1981. As stated above it's a 16' campion (closed bow) COuld someone tell me how I might find out this info??? I've looked on the net but can't find anything. Thanx for reading

There's a formula used to determine it. I believe it is (Lenth*width*2)-90). That's from memory, so I might be off.

Contact Campion, www.campionboats.com 250.765.7795

My dad bought a new 2004 Campion 602 Explorer last year. There is no plate that tells the cargo/hp on his boat.

No, that is the HP formula. NADA's website only lists Champion boats from 84-up. The only 16' listed for 84 is the "SUPER FISHERMAN" with a beam of 7'4". 16*7.33*2-90 = 145 (rounded up) as a maximum HP.
