Cowl latch 90 HP inline six

I have an '84 inline six (90 HP brown band). The top cowl latch (one of three) is broken. There is a hook that screws into a black plastic disk. The disk is cracked and will no longer hold the hook. Where can I get a replacement disk? Thanks.<br /><br />G

Hi Stratodoc<br />If you thread the hook into the latch assembly further in on the bottom two latches it will hold the colwing on just fine at least temporarily. I think it will be tight enough to keep the seal at the top of the engine. Or maybe you could rig up a turnbuckle or some other hardware store item to work...<br /><br />If you go to www.mercurypartsexpress.com there's all the exploded views with part numbers and prices (if the part is current).
