Mariner 75hp

After about 30mins of running, I can put motor on idle, then go back to full speed, the motor quits. Seems like this happens when engine is warm. I was told it could be stator problem. Will start just fine and idle fine. After a while, it will go to full speed again.

Yep....sounds like the high side of the stator.<br /><br />TMD

Would the stator make a noise before going out? Like a clattering?

Hmmm...Reread the post.<br /><br />Check to see if the engine is pumping adequate water at full speed.<br /><br />TMD
