7.5hp (5817652)1980-81 looking for impeller at mercury parts web site but can not find impeller or pump. I must be looking in the wrong place can anyone help. I even did a serch for impeller on one site and got no hits.<br /><br />Thanks<br />jw
i stock that impeller.actually there are 2 different ones..#47-89980 or #47-89981 the difference being driveshaft diameter either 0.438 diam or 0.456 diam ...the only way to tell is to buy the small one and try it or if you can read a micrometer-mic the shaft.email me if i can help
NAPA auto parts merc ser number 2529895 to<br />5306000 part (18-3039) 5206550 & up (18-3054) .438id.<br /> Sub notes are confusing you may need to try both.
Just installed a new water pump kit into my 80-81<br />Mercury 7.5 serial # 5616819 I'm not a mechanic but it only took 1 hour for the whole job and the part # from napa is 18-3054. Bought a cheep vacuum/pressure gauge and getting readings of 5psi through pee hole.<br /><br />Shawn
