what would an alternative to OMC Locquic Primer

What alternative could I use that would be just as good as OMC Locquic Primer?<br /><br /> Thanks for any help

As far as I know,it's a Loctite product,so whatever they recommend will also work.What are you securing that needs ultra-lock?<br /><br />DHP

Any hardware, auto supply, etc. carry LocTite products. The primer is the same.

It's an aerosol product made by Loctite. As you might have guessed, it's called Loctite 7471 Part# 322477. A little bit goes a long way, so you can be generous in its application.

DHPMarine, I am attaching the steering shaft and thrust washer. The OMC service manual is calling for OMC Locquic Primer as well as OMC Nut Lock to the splines of the steering shaft and lower mount bracket.<br /> Since I am on this subject, I am assuming I would apply the Locquic primer first and allow to become tacky or dry then apply the NUt Lock?<br /><br />Thank you all for your help and replies to my questions.

the loctite primer is meant to dry first.<br /><br />DHP
