6hp. evinrude 1973 fisherman. just not getting out of it what i think i should. after going over it I decided to rebuild carb. with that done its better but not what it should be. during rebuild I realized that the carb I was rebuilding matched that of the 2hp. colt junior and 4hp.
except no high speed needle jet! theorfice in bowl is plugged with washer and bolt. and my housing cover does have a hole for high speed jet.is this the right carb for my motor? should it have high speed jet? is it sufficient for my motor? many thanks.

Re: carburetor

hello
I have two of them and both used fixed high speed jets.
try to find a dealer with a test wheel to check power output then try to find a prop that will let the motor turn up. I ran mine on a 1470 jon boat with my daughter. we could not outrun the biting fles. we had to face each other with towls and slap like mad. nice thing was the skeeters were laughing so hard they did not join the deer flies:).
