I just bought a 1974 elect start rude how can i tell if it has a charging circuit. Would be nice if it would keep my batteries up.<br />Thanks Russell

99% of time, if its origonally an electric start( from factory) than its usually chargeing curcuit....<br />discopnect the battery after it is started and running, and hook a voltmeter to the batt cables while they are still attached to the motor.. you should recieve voltage coming outa there, if it is chargeing
