1968 85 HP E/J Distributor cap i.d. problem

This one has really got me puzzled. I keep looking for a V4 cap with the right part number. Everyone I find has this same number in very tiny numbers.<br />383520 Im looking for a 382480 I know the cap has <br />5 wire outlets because of the coil so im not looking at a 3cyl by mistake. Every part book I look in has no listing for the 383520. Apparantly this number doesnt exist and may be some kind of casting # or something. The rotor number is the same I need 382424 but not the cap ive looked at about 8 4 cyl caps and they all say the same. Normally I would think I dont have the part but like I said, all of the books say 383520 doesnt exist. Evinrude '68 85 Starfire model 85893

Charlie.... The OMC part number for the 1968 85hp Evinrude/Johnson is #382480. Present list price is roughly about $170.00. What's wrong with yours?

Its cracked. I have some used parts but I guess<br />they are just another part altogether my parts price books go back to '95 so maybe the ones I have are no longer available or the part # on the part isnt a real number. Confusing. I rarely have a headache like this w/ OMC parts.

If you have a problem locating one, I have a couple used ones here that I could check out (Tampa Bay area).
