Could any one answer me this.<br />I have a 1974 Johnson, 3 cylinder 70hp, electric start o/b that runs well.<br />The question is:- I have been usuing a two stroke oil brought from the chandlers no problems,<br />but i can get a supplier to give me two stroke oil for free. It mentions outboards and gives the spec as API TC, JASO FB.<br />Million dollar question CAN I USE IT?????<br />It does state not high performance, so is a 30 year old a high performance engine. :confused:

A 3 cylinder 70 is a high performance engine.<br /><br />How much oil can you use that you would risk burning up your engine for free oil?<br /><br />Use TCW-3 rated oil-ONLY!

I agree, why risk it? Weigh the cost of the oil you are buying vs. the price of a new motor that works as good as the one you have now, okus the hassel of purchasing, setup, time. No comparasin.
