I have a 1970 johnson super seahorse 40hp outboard which sat around for 10 years but in fairly good shape. Recently, performed a spark test """checked "ok" . Nice blue arc about a 1/4" to head plate. Compression seem ok". Not certain (dont have compression gage) Fuel mixted 50:1. Tried manually starting about a 100 times.. but no FIRE". I Have a type 2 carburator according to the repair manual. Is there anything else I might have overlooked before I look into rebuilding the carb.... Thanks for your input...

Dusty.... If you have compression and spark (ignition), taking into consideration the length of time the engine's been sitting, the carburetor is no doubt fouled and will require cleaning/rebuilding.

Other problems may exist but that would be the area to look at first.
