I am being given conflicting advice from two dealers about the correct plugs for My 1975 Johnson/Evinrude 70HP
M.N. 70573E
one says BR9H the other says QL77JC4
who is right.

p.s. anyone know where I can source a choke solenoid from, I am in New Zealand and apparently they are a discontinued part?

The Champion # (QL77JC4) is correct. Gap at .030. The other # is an NGK, but the NGK website lists the QL77JC4 equivalent as a B27HS-10, not a BR9H. Can't help ya with the solenoid, though.
