evinrude 7.5 fleetwin, what year?

I recently picked up an Evinrude Aquasonic Fleetwin 7.5hp. model: cd - 11 serial: 1148915. Any idea what year?

maybe i have different cowling? it says fleetwin 7.5. On the side of enginge block it has number stamped: 7518 - 10474. any ideas?

Billy,Model no. 7518 is a 1955 7.5 hp Evinrude.Don't know about your cowling.Where did you get the CD-11 number?

the cd 11 number wasw on the stern bracket. any idea on where to get a manual? I checked the links. also missing a couple odds and ends?

Hi Billy<br /> I-boats sells them at the bottom of the page. They only go back to 1956. Don't be botherd by that, because your year/model requires the same info. You may also find a copy at the library.

Billy, If you are looking for a factory manual you can find one on this site.Only problem is ,is that you need to determine what engine you have for sure . A 54' 5.5 Johnson, which is what a CD-11 is or a 55' 7.5 Rude, which is what model number 7518 is.<br /> web page

The '55 Fleetwin and the '54 CD-11 Johnson use identical lower units, save for the props. I'm betting someone not concerned with originality merely dropped their 7.5 powerhead (and hood, etc.) on a 5.5 lower unit and got back out on the water. Make sure you've got a 7.5hp prop on there, otherwise you'll twist her up too high and those old aluminum rods won't take that for too long...<br />- Scott

Hi, I have the same engine, and I'm wondering if yours has the original paintjob and stuff. I want to repaint mine but im not sure of the rite colors, i know its white blue and black. Can you take a pic of it and post it.. Thanks if you can or if you cant heh.
