Can you please tell me what is the word to discover Johnson/Evinrude year code ?

I knew it and wrote it somewhere, but....go find it now.

You should post it on some sort of Glossary of Terms thread, so people won't keep asking for it.

Thanks

Val

Re: Johnson/Evinrude year code

Ok, here's some clarification:

Look at the last three letters of the model number. Disregard the very last letter (for year id purposes). The 70 hp leaves you with CR which according to the info above (which is correct) means it's an '84.

Your 90 hp is an exception. The letter "A" was a designation for an alternate color scheme (it was used during the late 80's and early 90's) and this info is not well known. I believe that the 90 hp is a 1989 model.

-John

The "1" is the key. It is a 1971. Thanks for taking part in the forum and asking your question, but in the future please make it easier for us by starting a new topic. I had to read through all that 8 year old stuff before ever getting to your question.
