Evinrude, can you identify year form these numbers?

I have an older Evinrude outboard. On the side of the mounting bracket and on the side of the cylinder case on a small aluminum plug, I located these numbers. They are the same in both locations: 15020 26861 The cover on the motor says: "Evinrude Fastwin 18" Can you tell me the year and, pardon the ignorance, but is it an 18hp? Thanks!!!

5.7 Mercruiser-No Fire

Running fine yesterday - no fire today.

Checked postive side of coil with key in on position 12.5V.

Checked the white/red wire had 11.5V.

Removed the coil wire inserted spark gap tester.

Removed the white/green wire from the distributor put key in on position and grounded the white/green lead, no spark at coil.

Put a new coil repeated test same results! Also, checked neutral interupt switch, ok! Also, checked tact - ok!

Is there anything else that would cause no fire?

No spark is usually problematic of

1. Sensor coil
2. Charge coil
3. Power Pack
4. Key Switch
5. 10 way connector

although i am unfamiliar with the older motors

Riverrat, you are breaking into somebody else's thread. Please start your own. In fact I belive you are not even on the correct forum for a mercruiser.
