I am just wanting some opinions a decent fish finder with temp and depth. My wife and son enjoy fishing, but does not need to show it color. I want it for depth in unfamiliar areas of the lakes. I would like to spend around $100 dollars. Thanks Zach

Not to familiar with many of the different models but I have not seen any for less than about $150.00. At that price you won't get temperature reading though. Add on another $40.00 for that option. Try Walmart for the basic units. They will probably suit you needs well.

Eagle's low-end units are nice and several to choose from.

The low cost units see the same fish as a $2000 unit. Want them to really catch fish? Spend the option money on 2" long minnows and a airated baitbucket with some seaweed in it. I have scanned areas in the ST Lawrence River, no fish. Put on a 4" Dace-Minnow- 3-5 minutes later 20' from the bottom, Big bass or pike. >MEAT< MEAT THAT SWIMS. Or worms for perch and sunnys. No barb needed, hook comes right out fast. All the kids I take out KNOW they are catching fish with me.
