Can anyone tell me what the recommended RPM's of a 1980 35hp Johnson model number J35ELCSM, I've tried looking everywhere and simply cannot come up with anything. Thanks in advance to all that respond.

Re: Recommended RPM's

Just looked in my seloc manual and it says 5500 max wot. I run a 1981 rude 35 on my 16ft xwide xdeep with a 10x13 prop and turn about 5400

I also run a 10x13 prop on my 16ft lowe boat, my 35hp is a tiller handle and i weigh about 260lbs would this affect the performance of my motor being too much weight near the transom. One of my buddy has a 40hp johnson and we run our boats he runs off and leaves me from the holeshot and top end speed.

Re: Recommended RPM's

Vic...I run a 35hp on my Sea Nymph Bass Hunter....I have a heavy load in my boat...3 batteries...my son and I...tackle enough to supply a store..lol....I run a 11x9 prop on it and get full rpm's and top out at 22mph and good hole shot....

Now I aquired a 10x13 SS prop...I hooked it up...I lost RPM and speed...so I went back to my 11x9 prop and back to best performance....I guess you have to use a prop according to boat and weight for best RPM and performance
