Is this a Primer Solenoid? 88 J50 outboard

I've attached a picture of what I now think is the primer solenoid. Does anyone recognize what this is>. (Johnson 50HP 1988 outboard J50TLCCS) BTW: I have fixed the wiring.

That's your primer solenoid but the red handle should be aligned with the cylindrical base of the solenoid for normal operation. If you leave it as you have it, you will flood the engine constantly.

That may be my problem!! I found this when reading through the top secret link at the top of the forum. Sorry I missed that earlier when searching through the forum. I'm reading the the whole list now. I appreciate your help!

Update: I set the handle so it is aligned with the body of the solenoid and that made my flooding problem a lot better! Its not ready to go back into the water yet but I'm one step closer.
