Light-ish truck topable boat?

I'm looking for a boat I can toss on top of my truck while towing my travel trailer. My first thought was a canoe, but my wife isn't a canoe fan (too tipy). I thought about my old 14' Sears aluminum boat, but without even attempting it I'm guessing it will be too heavy.

It'll be for putting around on small to mid sized lakes. It would have my 9.9 Johnson and/or 44lb Minn Kota pushing it. Ideally it's big enough for 2 adults and two 50 lb dogs and 100 pounds or under. Also, I'd like to find it used nice and cheap.

I see a lot of old aluminum skiffs around. How much does a 10-12 footer weigh? Any other suggestions? I don't think I want an inflatable.

Thougts?

12-14' jon boat

We used to cartop a 14' on the big Oldsmobile.
When we moved up to a truck, we needed a ladder rack and some ingenuity to get it up there, but we did.

I have a 14' Alumacraft from about 1960 that I cartopped many times.
I could load it by myself. I think it weighed 120lbs.
Used 10 h.p. motor.
