Was just watching the food channel, and it reminded me of two - one at Scotts seafood in Newport Beach , CA, a steak I actually cut with a fork.....yummm
And the prime rib, Yorkshire pudding , spinach and salad w/ baby shrimp and a vinagarette dressing at Gullivers in Costa Mesa CA, a buddy used to work there.
I gotta get my skills up more!!!

I will need some help from Ladyfish as far as spelling goes, but the restaurant was Guidos (sp?) on Galveston Island. Wife and I went to the island for an anniversary several years ago. Great food and exceptional service. Maybe the service made the food taste better, I don't know.

When I lived in Bucks County PA and my Brother and I drove to Ocean City NJ.
We caught 6 keeper flounder and stopped for fresh Jersey tomatoes and corn on the way home.

That meal gets better every time I think of it:)

Re: Whats the most memorable meal you ever had?

My most memorable meal is the last one I remember my GranDaddy cooking at The Doe. The Doe is the hunting camp I'm a memeber of. My GranDaddy passed when I was 23....the meal was cooked when I was 18. I'm 52 today. It consisted of squirell dumplings, fried/smothered deer tender loin, rice, potatoes, sweet potatoes, turnip greens, cabbage, purple hull peas, lima beans, corn bread and an apple cobbler for desert. It was cooked the weekend after Thanksgiving 1976. He passed in 1977.

January 1969..2 days before my 18th birthday at the induction center in Atlanta. The rudest looking, nasty tasting liver in some stuff that might have been gray gravy on rice that still crunched.:eek::eek::eek:

Over 40 years ago and still turns my stomach to think about it.

First date with Mrs Ken. Italian place called Da Lucianos. We closed the place, they were winding the clock to remind us that we should leave !!!

October 24, 2006, my 71st Birthday. Outdoor Dining Terrace of The Halekulani Hotel in Honolulu. LOML and I had gone there for reminiscence of our courtship in 1955.

Broiled Mahimahi, rice and braised broccoli. A rhine wine reminiscent of Blue Nun. Sounds so simple.. .looked and tasted soooo exotic.

Dessert was soo pretty I took pics.

Re: Whats the most memorable meal you ever had?

A few years back myself and some of my friends were on vacation in Ocean City Maryland. We found a place in West Ocean City called Crab Alley. They just cover the table with a big piece of brown paper, bring out a bunch of hardshells and dump them right in front of you. That, some corn on the cob and some beers made for an enjoyable evening.
