What is your favorite fishing reel?

I just purchased a brand new Tica Libra SA4000 for $45 on sale. Normally $70. 10 bearing system, came with a extra spool. Had the shop sting it up with 12 pound CXX Pline. Hitting the river tomorrow morning to try it out!

Wellll, THAT narrows the field down pretty slim

I don't have 1 favorite, but have favorites for different types of fishing;

- Daiwa Regal Z, old one, trout, light stuff
- Shimano Corvalus, cheap but good bang for the buck, pike, dink stripers, light trolling
- Okuma Induron, $50 china baitcaster, really surprised it's as good as it is and I haven't blown it up yet, big stripers (FW)
- Daiwa SL20SH, small tuna

I have a whole slew of other reels, but those are my go-to reels

No Kidding, I went to the local Bass Pro shop, they have HUNDREDS of different reels. After I got tired of looking I asked the sales staff if they had any not made in China, they said NO!

I have three Garcia Pro Max, 1500, 3200, 5600 and a Morrum 5600. Had 'em a long time and like 'em a lot.

I got to try out my new tica reel and I like it a lot! Great reel thus far!

I also have a Daiwa Megaforce 100tsh and it is OK. Not the best reel, But for my first bait caster it gets the job done. I would like to upgrade it soon though, before the salmon hit the river this year.

Lew Childare speed spool and a older (blue) Diawa millionaire. Have more but only seem to use these every time out round type reels....

Older early 70's Garcia Mitchell 300 I have two of them. I also have a 206 Garcia Mitchell. Great reels all.

My two Abu, made in Sweden, Cardinal 6, that I bought new in the 70's, to my chagrin I have tried to buy more on the auction sites and I find out that they are "collector" items and sell for 10 times what they did new!

I love my Daiwa Viento. Twitching bar aside, it's a great casting reel. I can absolutely launch light weight lures with it!

The older Shimano Curado is my favorite reel. They have the best customer service of any reel company I've ever dealt with.

I have a quantum and a mitchell spinning reels I like a whole lot.

For live/cut bait i love my Okuma Epixor Baitfeeder (i have 5 now). soft plastic fishing is with Quantum Kinetic. For lures/ jigs Daiwa Advantage Super Tuned HSTA Casting Reel. trolling mostly in brackish so i use Cabela's Depthmaster Gold Trolling Reels.

i have a bps pro qualifier spinin combo, the reel is nice but its really about that rod, i liked the rod so much i bought the baitcaster combo a year later, the baitcasting reel is great the dual brakes are great i love this reel, some of my buddys don't like "storebrand" reels, but they all sweat the Pro Qualifier, some has even bought there own. actully i think all my budds have some type of bass pro reels. for the money i think they are unmatched. the the return policie is great, one year no questions. if a reel last me one month it will last a few years.
