Hey there, do any of you knowledgeable guys know if there is much difference between the 2007 and 2010 Optimax 90 ? Is the 2007 a good motor?

Thanks in advance for any info you can share.

With the exception of cowl graphics, they are virtually identical. Some early 1.5 Opti's came through with a black oil tank which was pretty stupid. Later models came with this tank in a opaque form where you could actually SEE the oil in the tank. Some early models had issues with CDM's failing, and in some circumstances croaking the ECM at the same time. IMO great motors. Very smooth, very fuel efficient, and pretty quite for a two stroke. Lot's of torque too. I've got a customer with a 2008 that has over 1200 hours on it, and short of routine maintenance, and one failed CDM, he has had no issues, and loves it. My two cents.

2006 Opti 150. Lots of power and trouble free. And suprisingly good on gas milage.

Hey, while Im asking all these questions, I got another.

I noticed that QuickSilver comes in a regular and synthetic; which do you guys recommend for the '07 Optimax 90 ?

Stay with the Quicksilver Synthetic DFI oil. It's a little more up front, but if you plan on keeping this engine for awhile, it will pay off.
