my manuale only goes to 1982 it says measure from the top of the bottom end to the centre of the hole on the shift rod at 21.844 inches which i assume is about 21 7/8 roughly but it does not say if in forward, reverse or neutral but neutral would make sense to me does any body know if the 1984 would be the same measurement as the 1982 and do i measure it while in neutral thanks
