first step is to purchase the correct service manual,second step is to read and familurize yourself with whats gonna happen.
that hull truth link is about stupid.
gotta love the net though.
note they cut the speedo tube.
note that usually a screw driver wont remove the key.
note there is no explanation about the retainer and lock collar.
once you get the manual I will be happy to answer questions.

Hey Rodbolt I've tried to purchase a service manual but cannot find one. They tell me they only go up to 2003 now. That's why I turned to this forum. If you know where I can purchase one I would like that info. Thanks

any yamaha dealer can supply that manual.
Ill double check tomorrow.
if not then I promise to post step by step bolt by bolt instructions but it may take a few days.

no worries.
however I have spent the last 6 hours in the sun on boats on a work rack.
I am incredibly tired and still have to go home and mow.

Hey Rodbolt did you ever find out any info on a manual for that 2004 Yamaha 60 HP? If not would you be able to pass along instructions on how to replace that impeller? Thanks

pretty striaght fwd.
remove the trim tab,dissconect the speedo tube,remove 5 bolts 2 on each side and one in the trim tab pocket. drop the case,remove the 4 pump bolts,replace pump parts as nessasary and reverse the operation.
leave the shifter in N.

I'm just about to change my impeller on 2006 F60
I purchased the whole replacement kit ( 63D-W0078-01)
Also have the service manual where is reference in several spots to apply
Water resistant grease - Yamaha A
and Loctite 572
Where can I buy this stuff - no Yamaha deale around and I like to do the work ASAP
