What kind of engine

I have seen a bayliner for sell (the neteherlands) and like to buy the boat.
Only thing, the have told me that in 1992 the engine is changed for a other one.
The should build in a Volvo Penta QA260b in it.

The only thing a see are OMC parts,
Please can someone tell me what kind of engine this one is?

Looks like OMC to me. small block chevy, 305 or 350. Got any pic of the outdrive?

Thats a Volvo(red) block with OMC Cobra(grey) parts.Some one got rid of the Volvo and changed it to OMC.J

No, i dont have pictures of the outdrive.
Only the engine itself.
What can i check?

The boat is build with an OMC engine, after en coule of years (1992) the build an volvo in it. That is told me.

That number is a Volvo number I think, however, it's missing one number. It should be 10 digits long.
My guess is you have an OMC Cobra outdrive and a Volvo dealer installed a Volvo long block into the boat using the OMC accessories.
If you can get the full serial number, I should be able to find out more info for you.
The 4100 part of the SN you have indicates a 5.7 engine.

Most likely has a cobra outdrive, since its running omc marine parts and there is no front pulley mounted water pump.

Yes it is a 5.7 engine. Tommorow ill try te get the full serial number.

an OMC Cobra outdrive? that means not the best outdrive? It's an problem outdrive or not?

Avoid Cobras or any OMC drive for that matter at all costs!
