Volvo Penta Circulation Pump

Can someone verify for me that the attached pic is the circulation pump? At the bottom, there is water slowly dripping.

Howdy,


It's always helpful to tell all of us what you have. Make, model, serial, etc. (makes it a little easier to help!)


The circulation pump is the pump that is bolted DIRECTLY to the engine (IN FRONT) same as any car engine.....

The raw water pump is usually to the right side running off it's own belt.

It appears that the one in your picture is the raw water pump.

Yes, you are correct. I did figure out it is the raw water pump. I have a 1997 Volvo Penta 5.7GL. There is a small dripping leak where the shaft connects to the pump. Is there a seal or something that should be replaced? Thanks so much for all the great info.

Yes, you can get a seal kit for it.
