The wife and I have bought our first little boat.
1977 Galaxy Saturn 620. Think its a 15'
It's a tri hull with a 1976 Merc Thunderjet 500.
In pretty good shape. A soft spot by driver seat. Transom has some hairline cracks and will flex somwhwat if i really lean on the prop with the motor up...but I think Ill be fine this season. Runs like a top and the merc was totally rebuilt locally a few years ago with low hours. Starts..runs..idles like a champ.
We took it out with the po when we bought it. We took it out alone this past sunday by ourselves. We almost put in in the MO river near our home....but backing down the boat ramp....I looked back in the mirror....wow the river was scary. Fast current....steep ramp....no one else around...I decided we shouldnt have to doe the first time out and decided a local lake would be much better.
Everything went really smooth. I was suprised to see so many resto's going on
on older boat and have decided to do my transom/stringers/floor over the winter. Im pretty handy and have tons of tools.
Bonus...fits in garage. I wanted a little boat, and this trihull is pretty neat.
Some pics.....I want to do 2 back to back seats and maybe a rear bench?
I paid 1800 for it with titles to all 3.
