I recently bought a 1975 Johnson 50 from a boat mechanic and it runs great but when I idle it slows down so much that it dies when I shift back in gear. It does not spit sputter or run bad in any way, it simply idles so low that it dies. I think I need to idle it up a little but I am not sure where the idle adjustment is on the Carb. Any Help?

Look where the throttle cable attaches to the likage on the block, towards the top of the linkage is a large screw with a jam nut. Loosen the jam nut and adjust the large screw to proper idle, tighten jam nut.
