1989 225 evinrude went to time this using joes method cant seem to find blk/white wire are we talking blk/yellow wire thats the anphenal conector any help would be great thanks phil

Black and white wire runs from temperature switch in the cylinder head to the powerpack; it's paired with a tan wire.

mine has tan wire going under powerpacks black wire is grounded to themostat bolt do i have faststart or im i missing something

motor is new to me ignition is 86 or 87 gt200 rebuilt motor just trying to tune without being on the water thanks for your help

The first engine with QuikStart is 1988. What's the model number of your engine? The 1986 and 1987 motors don't have QuikStart or S.L.O.W.

thank you i did a little reading in both manuals electronics are off 2.7 gt200 1987 powerhead is 89 3ltr so i went to time it in but couldnt find blk/white wire so i indexed flywheel checked timing each cly everything perfect 18 degrees bogs out of hole might be a little rich once she planes its awesome but the bog is gotta go thanks again phil
