Selling Johson 150 gt 1981 shaft length?

Hello,
I received a question from an interested buyer about the shaft length of my motor. I measured the transom at 25". If theres any more info I can give to help come up with an answer, please let me know. Thanks in advance...

Thank you for the response. Based on the chart you showed me, and my model #J150TLCIA, The shaft is 20". Does that make this a Long shaft or Xtra long?

20" is called the short shaft most of the time.. As far as I know that is the shortest lenght available and I think the most desireable.. The 25" shaft is know as a long shaft. The 20" is normally used on fast style hull`s like bass boats,. Ranger, Stratos ,astro,checkmate, baja boats of that design from that picture it looks like you also have a jack plate on the boat also desireable hope it helps just my 2 cents lol have a good one. siempe fi Bill

15" is a short, 20" is a long and 25" is Xlong.

Hey Thanks, I just learned something also I always thought the 20" was the shortest they made ?? always good to keep an open mind , are they normally the smaller hp motors?? .I have never seen one but I am pretty new to the boating scene but thanks for the info..Bill

20 is the most common

Short shaft motors are the norm up to about 18-20hp and can be had up to 35 or 40 I think. Just guessing here. After that 20" is the norm.
