Would a pictoral guide to installing a Teleflex Steering system be helpful?

I'm about to install a new NFB 4.2 Mechanical Rotary Steering on my project boat. Would it be helpful to do a step by step photo tutorial on the installation?

A pic guide to anything,, To everthing,, would be helpful!

I don't reckon I am too different from lots of folks here, I am realitively handy but have not spent a lot of time working on boats.

What seems simple and straight forward often seems to have some nautical trick, twist, or tip that I don't pick up on until after the job is done.

BTW This internet is a wonderful thing, no? Where once we were limited to the knowledge of our circle of friends, maybe a shop or two, the folks at the local dock, or some out of date books, now we have access to a whole world of info thanks to each other!

Sometimes I feel bad at not having more to share but I learn more everday and perhaps one day I will be one of the "old salts" helping the youngsters.

Ok looks like I'm going to do it. I just wanted to see if it was worth it to others. I'm going to have to get someone to help me take pictures while I do it as well as make sure I "do it pretty" lol.

If they don't have a use, ignore it. iboats is THE place to get this information so the more authors of real life tutorials on how to do things, the better.

Just do it and please take lot's of photos and be sure to dress for the occasion (you know shirt an tie, clean pants and polished shoes)! Then...... we can clean it up and keep it someplace

Um....I'm going to do my best to keep out of the pictures....no one wants to see a fat balding sweaty guy when they're trying to learn something. Just to be nice I MIGHT let my hands be in the pics. LOL

Ok folks. Here's what I have so far. I'm going to keep all the photos and comments on photobucket until I'm done. That way you guys can keep track and comment on the progress before I put the final thread up. Take a look and let me know if this is a good start.

Any tutorial with phots is a great idea. There's nothing worse than not understanding someone's lengthy explanation of "HOW TO" compared to seeing a pic of how easy it really is to do...... Looking forward to seeing your progress.

Ok I have it started. It will probably been done in a couple of weeks. Before I get to the actual install of it, I need to clean out my project boat and re-cover the deck. Once that's done, then i'll be going after the steering install and motor mounting.

I just put in a rotary NFB yesterday.....would have taken the pictures if I thought about it. I consider myself fairly handy but have just jumped into boats and it was pretty simple......Instructions were solid.
