I went ahead and had new longblocks installed last year, did the 10 hour break-in and had them adjusted and checked. Now with 16 hours on them one of the holes in the port engine is not getting oil to the push rod (only a little spurt now and then).

Had a new push rod assembly and lifter installed and still doesn't work. No one can figure out why.

I really doubt that you wanted this in the Stupid Human Tricks Forum, though it might qualify.

I think I will move you to the mercruiser Forum.

Thanks, JB-just shows how my season is going so far! Maybe new category "Stupid Engine Tricks"?

Re: 1990 Mercruiser 454 freshwater cooled 330hp

Hello Mercruiser Experts,
I just purchased a boat with 1990 Mercruiser 454's. I'm having a little trouble figuring out if the engines are FWC or if they are 1/2 FWC engines. If you can tell my looking at the attached photograph, I would be most grateful for your assistance.
The reason I am asking is that I want to install a heat exchanger/electric water heater versus the electric only water heater installed now. I am trying to figure out where to install the fittings to "tap" off the cooling system, route it through the heat exchanger, and back to the system. Again, many thanks for any advice.
