synthetic oil

I have a 2007 25 hp 4 stroke merc. I been thinking about swaping over to a marine grade syn. oil. Good idea or waste of $.

Some will say good idea, some will say waste of money. What is correct for you depends on why you're thinking of switching over. My opinion is it won't hurt and cost just isn't that great.

I use it and change on the same sched as dino oil. Drained oil is usually only slightly off color, never that ugly pitch black ...

Yea, kinda what i was thinking. I run syn. in my 4-wheeler and it does look better when drained even in that enviroment.
