My friend asked me to change the lower unit oil on his 1999 115hp johnson. i agreed and he ran the motor for me and i noticed that the lower unit was leaking water through the seam. the motor has a removable cap where the pee hole thing is and he puts the hose in there to flush/run it. is this normal or is there something wrong?

Check the lower bolts to make sure they are tight but yes, that is pretty normal.

Water seems to come from everyhwere when you run the out of the water.

Pender, If you look closly at the seam where the gearcase meets the midsection, you will see cast in slots to allow the water to leak out. It is made to leak there.
