Yesterday I ran decarb though my motor yesterday and I when I got home I was doing work on the motor and discover that the trigger wire was melted( thats was why I had a misfire I suspect!) after trying to repair the wire noticed that I did more harm then good and I need to replace it.

My question is that will I ruin or do harm to the motor with the decarb in for a week while I am weighting for the part to come it (5-7 days).

Re: Decarb Problem

No you are okay. The "de-carb" fluid depending on what you used is essentially penetrating oil ;) Not WD-40 which will dissolve oils.

If you used the mercury tuner ....it is an oil.

Now trust me you will get smoke!! and I would repeat the procedure once you are up and running. It's a good time to do the little cleaning things and check bolts while you are in the waiting for parts mode.
