How to hook up old alarm sys aginst new harness?

I wonder if any one could tell me how to connect the old ground alarm system
against the new harness on Merc 496HO.
I have taken out my old 454 Mags and or about to put in to new 496 Ho's
without the smart craft system.
Will there be any moore problems when not connecting all plugs that are included on this new harness?

You're going to have to install the oil pressure & water temp alarm sensors in the engine.You can T off the oil sensor and there are several blocked off ports for the overheat sensor,intake manifold/thermostat housing are the best locations.

Ok, didn't now that they were not installed.
Did find one place for the tempswitch, at the sameplace as the watersensor.
But can't find a place for the oilswitch, maybe I can make a t-split at the oilpreassure sender.
One moore question, do you now what type of sensor it is that are located
just behind the front enginemount on both sides.

Ayuh,.... I'm guessing the 1 on the portside is the oil pressure sender,+ the 1 on the starboard side is the Knock sensor...

The oil pressure sender is on the back on top of the flywheel and there is
another sensor at the original oil filter mount. It look's like they are in the outside waterchannels of the block.
I haven't found them either in the repair manual or at any one ho sells spare parts.
I'am trying to locate the so called alarmkit (816492A15 ALARM KIT), what is that one doing?

Those sensors are nothing more than the sensors used to turn on the idiot lights in a car, the oil press one closes at about 6psi. and the temp closes at about 200 degrees F.

Then I maybe could use those sensors, if I hook them up on one side of the terminals to ground and use the other terminal to my old alarm wire.
I just have to see if they are normally closed or opened.
I would ned one of each i suppose if it should work like the old system with
an alarmcheck on ignition.
Any comments would be great.
