Hey anybody have any fuel usage figures for the 105's?

Mine gulps 45 litres/hr at 5000rpm. Just had a good tune up & synchro so should be closer to the 25LPH it was doing.

Holy Crap!!!! That alot of fuel. Hope mine doesn't drink that much when I get it finished - especially at NZ's petrol prices!

Have you had yours going to see how much it uses?

I have a 1979 100hp. It uses around 3-4 gallons per hour. Mine used to gulp the gas. I replaced the needles, seats and the floats. Really seems to help. You also might want to make sure your gaskets are in good condition. You should also check your fuel filter. Your diagram could be bad.

Hi Glenn,
Have only just assembled the crankcase last night - will be a while before it goes and I can check the consumption. I'll let you know when I do.

Re: Fuel consumption 105 Chrysler 1974

Hi Glenn,
Took mine out for the first time today. Engine hours = 3.2, covered about 60km (Waitemata Harbour, Auckland, Halfmoon Bay - Motuihe - Rangitoto - Birkenhead - Half Moon Bay) and used 40 liters.
It was at varying speeds but on average it was 12.5 l/h or 1.5km/l or 0.66l/km or 66l/100km or 4.25 mpg (imperial gallon - not US)!!. Not using as much as yours but it sure as hell makes my car look economical !!!

Hey Lance

Thats great!

Did some further tuning on mine, & new NGK plugs made a difference. Check your throttle butterflies at idle (to see they are near closed) and at full throttle (horizontal) to see that its all in synchro.

Had mine out for a few nites, and at max revs it drank 30ltrs/hr on the flow meter. But like yours overall, it was average at 11 ltrs/hr, due to idle, & slow speeds.

Cheers
