Hi I have a quicksilver throttle control with a short cable coming out which has a multi plug on the end . I assume this is to connect the instruments to but what is the connector called and where can I get these from . can any one tell me what the wires are for or perhaps a wiring diagram from the connector to the instruments

Re: wiring help

Hi Neil,

Need to know which control you have... Some have a 3 pin connector, some have a 4 and some have a 5 pin.

It's called a 'Tacho harness' or 'instrument harness' and usually available from a Merc dealer.

The pins are usually...
(for a 3/4/5 pin) Power
(for a 3/4/5 pin) Ground
(for a 3/4/5 pin) Tacho signal
(for a 4/5 pin) Trim gauge signal
(for a 5 pin) Aux (Often used for a temp gauge)

Re: wiring help

That's a 'Commander 2000' control box... and a 5 pin connector.

Any Merc dealer will have them...

Purple wire is Power, only on with the key ON,
Black is Ground,
Gray is Tacho,
Tan/blu is External Temp alarm,
White/brn is Trim gauge
