I need to tear into and possibly rebuild this motor. I've been reading as much as I can find on the tearing down and reassembling part. The part I do not fully understand yet is the timing issues. Can you use a regular automotive timing light on these OB's and just factor in the 2 for the difference between a 2 and 4 stroke? This motor has a mechanical spark advance - does that need any adjustment and if so, is it done by rotating the trigger coil under the flywheel? Can you give me a place to go where I can read (and view pictures - lots of them) on how this procedure is done. I have the manual on the motor but it just says "using approved procedures" adjust the timing - not exactly a lot of help. Thanks

One other thing. Do they make a light with a built in tach or what do you use for a tach if the boat/motor doesn't have one?
