Just wondering what everyone's average Cruise Speed is?

I tend to cruise around at 25-30mph. I see no reason to cruise any faster. No reason to be in a hurry at the lake.

Same as you. My boat stays on plane at 3000 rpm, I tend to run 3250-3500 rpm. A little under 25 mph.

I also tend to stay under 3000rpm. Why push the Motor any harder than that. Take care of my motor and it will take care of me, Right!

Thanks for the Reply.

yep, right around 30 with a full load. I can get 40 WOT out of it, but its just not worth it. actually, i usually go by the tach and not the gps, which is at about 3000 rpms. so probably in your range as well, 25-30 mph.

About the same as yours, probably just under 30 most of the time. Also like to open it up for a short burst now and then though if the water is smooth and uncrowded. :D

Lol @ 42mph cruise, not all of us are on stepped hulls with a guy pouring fuel from a gas can directly into the carb!

I believe we run somewhere between 25-30mph at cruise. It will top out right around 50mph.

3500 RPM is the sweet spot for fuel economy at somewhere near 35 MPH depending on load

I'm not sure what the Top End speed is for my Boat. I don't have an interest to run WOT.

Thanks for the replies.

WOT....77mph and 36mph but like you said, no need to run them that hard. You'll spend way way more time on land if you make a habit of doing so!!!

LOL I'm sure I can make my boat fly and scare the heck out of myself and family. I reserve all that power for Pulling Skiers, tubers, Ect.

Re: Average Cruise Speed

Is it because of Weather. I think its going reach 85 degrees today and sunny.

Yeah, mine's shrink-wrapped and still sitting on the dealer's lot until I pick it up....winterized.

I still have to:

Pay the $1295 in tax
Pay the $150 for NJ registration.
Pass a boating course.

Oh, and starting tomorrow, I'm ripping my kitchen down to the studs and rebuilding. :(
