Special trailer needed, do I have to build it?

I would love to find a trailer to haul boats 18' to 40' in length that can EASILY be set up for different hull configurations. Would love to have everything all hydraulic if anyone makes such a thing. Haven't seen anything that does what I want so am I relegated to building my own?

Any thoughts?

I would build a heavy I-beam frame around a square tubing spine. This square tubing would have an inner beam that would slide in and out, telescoping for use with different length boats. Maybe have a ball lock pin to remove and telescope the trailer out longer. You may even be able to take an older Shorelander trailer and cut the tongue off and build a new tongue that will slide into it as suggested above. If you're going to go as big as 40 feet, I would make sure you have a tandem axle trailer to begin with.

Try looking for Yard Boss, although that brand name is at least 20 years old.
